Cité des Présents – François Mitterrand
The project to create the Cité Muséale, which will bring together the Musée du Septennat and the Musée du Costume in an innovative cultural facility, will soon be completed, and the facility has been given a new name, reflecting the ambition and originality of its purpose: the Cité des Présents de Château-Chinon.
This emblematic site will be home to a brand new museum from 2026, but in the meantime a number of conferences and temporary exhibitions will be on offer from this year. The programme is coming very soon!
The Musée du Septennat and the Musée du Costume have been closed since 1 September 2019. They will reopen as part of a new cultural facility entitled "Cité des Présents".

Since the start of the works, a newsletter has been published to keep the residents of Château-Chinon Ville and Château-Chinon Campagne informed about the progress of the works and their impact on the lives of local residents.
