Remarkably, the Morvan is spread over the four Burgundy departments: Yonne, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or and Saône-et-Loire. Created in 1970, the Morvan Regional Nature Park covers 239,000 ha and extends over 106 municipalities. The only territorial entity on the scale of the Morvan, its mission is to protect, develop and promote a region with a strong identity, privileged by nature and rich in traditions. 3,600 km of signposted routes criss-cross the Morvan and numerous leisure and recreation activities make the most of its formidable natural capital: hiking, horse-riding, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, etc. The "Park brand", a guarantee of authenticity, artisanal know-how and respect for the environment, certifies the quality of products, services and skills, as well as accommodation and restaurants.
