Rendezvous at the car park with the "nature sports" providers, who will be on hand to share a moment of conviviality and good humour on the rapids of the Morvan. Let yourself slide on the turbulent waters while enjoying the shade of the forests. Whether you choose rafting, hydrospeed or hot-dogging, you're sure to enjoy a unique experience that will delight you.
Located in the commune of Gouloux, 5 km from St Brisson, the Saut de Gouloux is a major tourist attraction in the Morvan. At this point, the stream "le Caillot" falls into an ancient fault that created the overhang, ending in a 10-metre-high waterfall. This waterfall, located deep in the forest, cannot be seen from the road, but is gradually revealed by the sound of the water, which becomes louder as you approach. The access path is lined with ancient low walls of mossy stone, deciduous trees and conifers, giving this spot a wild and authentic character. A sound hut has been set up near the river to amplify this "white water chuckle".
Discover by foot
To discover this emblematic site of the Morvan, there are two possible loops in the company of the Fario trout:
- one of 800 m, very easy,
- one 1 km long, a little steeper.
Looking for a longer walk? This 18km loop starts in Saint-Brisson and passes by the waterfall, but you can also start at Saut de Gouloux.

History and heritage
Log floating and millsNext to the waterfall, we see beautiful granite walls, the ruins of two mills, one for flour and the other for oil, as well as the site of an old floating port. This site was once used to float wood, as the Morvan provided firewood for Paris, and logs were transported via the rivers Cure and Yonne.
Craft clog making
A 5-minute drive away, take a trip back in time at Alain Marchand's, the last remaining representative of wooden clog making. You'll see clogs being made using traditional methods. In just a few minutes, before your very eyes, a log of wood becomes a clog, under the hands and tools of the clog-maker. Children will be delighted to take home their own little pair of clogs, or to have their photo taken in front of the biggest clog in the world!
