This peak dominates Burgundy and the hills of the Morvan by its size and all-pervading nature. At an altitude of 901 metres, immerse yourself in the rich fauna and flora on this exceptional hill.

Fancy immersing yourself fully in nature? Wherever you are, the birds will accompany you on your walk with their soft song. On foot, by bicycle or on horseback, the paths of Haut-Folin will allow you to experience a unique moment.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, alone, in a couple or with the family, you will always find a route to suit you. Thanks to small games or info panels, you will discover the treasures of this remarkable site. Hear the wind blowing among the leaves and enjoy a moment of serenity. Many protected species and other surprises hide among the coniferous and deciduous trees. On the way back, hear the rippling water and get a view of the valley between the tree branches.
Discover the different walking loops
Several routes are possible at the highest point of Burgundy: la boucle du Pré du Massé (family hike- 4 km), la boucle des trois bornes (family hike- 7 km), la boucle du bois du roy (great hike- 11 km) et la boucle de la Croisette (sporty - 18 km). From the Préperny chalet, you can walk around the lake. Some information panels will give you a better understanding of the importance of ecology and biodiversity in this place.
Starting points are located at the various car parks along the forest roads of Préperny and the Bois du Roy (D 500).
The Haut-Folin in winter
The Haut-Folin never sleeps in winter. As soon as the snow covers the landscape, you can come cross-country skiing. If you prefer not to strap on the skis, there are lots of other activities you can do with the family or among friends. Try a snowshoe hike, the snow softens the sounds and the calmness will undoubtedly re-energise you. Together with the children, you can also slide down a slope on a sledge, undoubtedly fun for the whole family. At the Préperny chalet, the SKIMO association provides reception and equipment rental.
Please note that in winter you must fit snow chains on your car to drive up Haut-Folin.
