Carnivorous fish
There is little tidal range in this lake, but there are plenty of habitats to suit the needs of carnivorous fish. It is no more than 20 metres deep. The very irregular bottom is dotted with tree stumps and rocks, which are favourite haunts for the pike-perch, perch and pike-perch that inhabit the waters of this lake. Its banks, which appear to slope gently, take on a much less regular profile as they pass beneath the surface of the water. So don't be fooled by appearances!
The numerous feeding stations for carnivorous fish in St Agnan are just waiting to be discovered.
Launching spots around the lake
There are two launching points for anglers: one at the very top of the lake, near St Agnan, but on the opposite bank to the village, and one more or less in the middle of the lake, still on the right bank, near the village of "les Guénifets", towards the old water sports centre.
Internal combustion engine prohibited
Some say it has "a little Irish air", others call it "little Canada"... Lac de St-Agnan, on the border between the Yonne, Côte d'Or and Nièvre departments, has a wild aspect that lends itself to fishing and daydreaming.
Techniques that work
The choice of a particular technique will not ensure good results all year round and on all types of predator... It all depends on the season, fish activity and the area of the lake you wish to fish.
However, there is one technique you need to be aware of when stalking pike-perch and perch in lakes: the 'pull'. Above all, you need a rod that is very sensitive and has a tip that is supple enough not to attract the attention of predators when you strike. A small reel fitted with line between 22 and 26 hundredths is all you need.
Carp

- No carp caught by amateur anglers may be kept in captivity or transported from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise.
- The existence of an overnight course does not in any way authorise camping,
