Fishing at Pannecière lake
Pannecière is the largest lake in Burgundy. It has generous dimensions.
Carnivorous fish
Located in the heart of the Morvan Regional Nature Park, Pannecière is the largest lake in Burgundy. Its size is generous (520ha). The lake is full in late spring and reaches its lowest level in autumn (late October).
Since the lake was reopened in 2014, there has been a good density of carnivorous fish (perch, pike-perch and pike), with some very fine specimens. There is a good density of perch, with some very fine specimens over 40 cm.
Boat launch sites around the lake
Several boat launches are accessible when the lake is at its highest level, the most practicable being those at Bonin and Chaumard. Please note that the one upstream of the lake near the Soulins campsite is no longer accessible from early August.

Techniques that work!
All techniques can work, but a lot depends on the season and the mood of the fish.
However, pull-pullers can hit more fish at the start of the season in May and June. The baits used should not be too big. In autumn, when the fish are active, dead fish can be used to good effect. As for perch, they bite quite well on small shads or with the paddle lead technique. From the shore, fishing with a live bait means you don't have to hang on too long and you can present a nice roach to pike-perch that don't want to chase after a lure.
A steel rod is essential, as there are plenty of pike.
Carps
The reputation of the Pannecière site grows stronger every year. It offers very good fishing conditions and has a very good density of common and mirror carp, with some very fine specimens. The record is currently 26kg.
This lake offers 3 night fishing sectors: they are signposted towards Bonin on the left bank, opposite Vauminot on the right bank, opposite Chaumard and Arringette on the right bank at the tip of Huard. A natural site that will delight lovers of wild nature and fishing.
Fishing open from 1 March to 31 October
- Only boilies and baits of vegetable origin are authorised during night fishing.
- No carp caught by amateur anglers may be kept in captivity or transported from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise.
- The existence of an overnight course does not in any way authorise camping.
