Leaving the Bibracte museum car park, take the D18, a road on the right towards Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray, passing through: le Poirier au Chien, La bise à l'âne, Corlon. Turn right towards Poil. 1 km off the route, in Saint Léger sous Beuvray: pharmacy, bakery, grocery shop, accommodation.
Go straight on, do not take Montandé, but turn right towards Poil. Leave the Poil road at La Palissade, fork right into the Bois des Gouttes. Go straight on at La Croix en Meux, then right at hill 393. Pass Château de Pierrefite, La Forge, then first right onto Chemin de Plantelune. Go through Montvernot then Petiton. On your right is the reverse side of Beuvray, the mountain that shelters Bibracte.
At Petiton, go up the D507, then right onto the D27. At Le Puits, turn right onto the D18, then left onto the D500 towards Glux-en-Glenne. Go through Anverse, straight on to Glux-en-Glenne (accommodation, restaurant). Go right and back to see the beautiful view of the Beuvray, the museum, go back and go straight up (on the left is the Bibracte European archaeological research centre). Go straight on towards Arleuf, still on the D500. Pass through Santasse, Les Tourneurs, as far as Pré du Massé (accommodation).
Continue straight ahead on the Bois du Roi forest road. You are in the Bois du Folin, on the left (Tintin's rocket antenna), the highest point in Morvan and Burgundy (picnic). At your highest point, go straight back down the Route de Saint Prix (do not follow Arleuf). Turn left off the route (towards Arleuf) and after 1 km you will come to the pretty Préperny pond, where you can enjoy a picnic.
Follow the small road (Etang de la Goulette on the right) as far as La Croisette. Here turn right onto the D179, Franay, view of Montcharmon, straight on Bois de Rire, Saint Prix (restaurant, brasserie, accommodation). Go straight on, leaving the D179 and climbing the D260 to Plein faîte, Argentole.
At Argentole, go straight on and leave the D260. At l'Eschenault, take the first turning on the left twice towards Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray on the D18. The museum car park will be on your right.
